Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information Collagen SA collects through collagensa.co.za, why we collect it, and your rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). Collagen SA is the responsible party for this information.

What we collect

When you place an order, we collect:

• your company or trading name
• the contact person’s name, email address and phone number
• your delivery address and any delivery notes
• the products and quantities you order

If you contact us by email or WhatsApp, we receive the details and messages you send us.

Your cart is saved in your own browser’s local storage so it is still there when you come back. It stays on your device and is only sent to us when you submit an order. The site does not use advertising or analytics cookies.

Why we use it

• to process your order and send you a proforma invoice
• to arrange delivery of your order
• to contact you about your order
• to keep the business and tax records the law requires

We do not sell your information or use it to send marketing messages.

Who we share it with

We share information only with service providers who help us run the site and deliver your order:

• Vercel, which hosts this website
• Supabase, which stores order records
• Resend, which delivers order notification emails to our team
• the courier that delivers your order, which receives your delivery details

If you message us on WhatsApp, that conversation is also handled under WhatsApp’s own privacy policy.

Information stored outside South Africa

Some of these providers store or process information on servers outside South Africa. Where that happens, we use providers that commit to protecting personal information under their data processing terms, as POPIA requires.

How we protect it

The site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Order records can only be read by our server and by authorised staff, and are not accessible from the public website.

How long we keep it

We keep order information for as long as we need it to complete and support your order, and afterwards for as long as tax and accounting law requires us to keep business records.

Your rights

Under POPIA you may ask us to:

• confirm whether we hold personal information about you and give you a copy
• correct information that is wrong or out of date
• delete information we no longer need or are not allowed to keep
• stop processing your information, where the law allows you to object

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
